fighters vs nukes
I was testing with the AI, and noticed that his fighters are attacking my nukes that are dropping.
I tooled around & found out that the only way (i know) to target nukes with jets is from bases & carriers.
However once the fighters are in air & the nuke is gone, they must return, becouse the fighters themselves wont target them.
My question is, do they do any damage vs nukes? I noticed in the info bar that their chances are zero, but still I thought that maybe...
Anyways, can they destroy nukes in mid air? and if so, how many hits (from fighters) does it take? (ballpark)

Use the search To the best of community knowledge, fighters can't harm nukes. People tried it with a crapload of fighters vs. one nuke without effect. People who have access to the code say it's impossible. Nobody claiming to have seen such an event was able to provide evidence.
Of course, there is the tiny chance that there is a bug somewhere that makes it possible in very rare cases for a fighter to shoot down a nuke (say, the shot ID changes from fighter shot to AA shot for some reason), but even if this was the case, it would be so rare that it would not not worth building into your strategy.

yup.
I believe I tested this to the max. I posted the results/pics somewhere but I won't bother to dig it up.
I placed silos in Alaska and airfields in Russia along the nuke trajectories. I targeted several nukes with over 150 fighters and nothing ever happened...

That's OK
That's OK, nukes are pretty useless against fighters too.
In DEFCON 2, are they going to have ejector seats for fighter pilots? Then maybe they could eject themselves onto the bombs and ride them as they drop, like in Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Love the Bomb.
Also they need a new movie called Dr. Queerlove and How I Learned to Love the Bum.

I've been known on online games as Prokofiev Pirate on Myth: TFL and Myth II; The Egressor on Halo 2, and Foibleson and Halo 3.

Obligatory "Everyone knows that Defcon 2 would suck---you can't use nukes until Defcon 1."
