you guys are so harsh.
The chap has probably got the locked demo version and is trying stuff out against the CPU before committing his cash to enable him to play against real players.
I see comments sometimes here that say something along the lines of 'defcon is dying' or defcon isn't attracting new players' but responses like this don't help in attracting new blood to the game.
Don't know who shak is but I would have expected better from Ace who remains my hero/nemesis

You should ban yourself from the strategy forum, as you have absolutely no grasp of the concept. This is demonstrated by your years of fruitless gameplay. Played a friendly 2v2 with you the other night, and you were complete and total suck, as a partner. We only won b/c of my skill... you left me to fight two noobs, by myself...
cheers Why?
Unlike me you're fantastic at defcon. Every time I participate in one of your games either as a spectator, ally or opponent I sit in awe at your skill.
you're the man. really you are. 100% testosterone.
If I could, I would have a sex change just to have your babies.
now if you have any strategy to offer the original poster that would be great.
Unfortunately I don't because as you pointed out so succinctly I'm a total suck

Well, I'm glad we've got that settled.
To answer gaul92, you should only patrol bombers along the coasts when defending against subs. So,
1. Get them up before and during your silo launch. Put them EVERYWHERE a sub could possibly hit you from.
2. Get them up when your silos are getting scouted, because a sub strike is sure to follow.
3. Get them up, if you're certain the enemy is gonna launch subs from a certain spot, at a certain time. (i.e. under Mexico, in the Arabian sea, etc.)
I recommend arming your bombers in sbm mode, at their outset, and nuke any ships/subs you run into. Then, immediately after launching the nuke, direct your bomber somewhere, so it goes into naval combat mode, instead of just returning to base. This way it will keep attacking, after you've launched the nuke.
*edit*
Also, if your coast is unprotected(no navy), then defending it with armed bombers is the best course of action.

I wasn't drinking when I made any of these posts. I just know what stupid whining bitch you are. Every time you type, it's clear that you haven't the foggiest idea what's going on, or what the fuck you're talking about. You just love to cry about things that don't concern you.
You've been playing for years, and you still suck. Worse than many noobs. Evidently, you're incapable of recognizing the patterns of play or the logic behind them. Unless you're kid, or mentally handicapped, there is no excuse for it. So, for these two reasons, I have no respect for you. Now, kindly fuck off.

lol Why?
you must really care to take the effort to keep trying to wind me up.
You want me to leave the forum or at least stop posting here.
you want me to stop playing the game
In short you have wanted to me to 'fuck off' for a long time.
Unfortunately I won't leave the forum nor will I ever stop posting here.
I also won't stop playing the game.
In short I won't be fucking off.
I like the game.
I even like playing games with you. I think I've played 4 or 5 so far with just the one as your partner. I've enjoyed them all even if you haven't.
I'm sorry if I didn't come up to your standard of play during our last game.
You mentioned that I was a total suck at it. My recollection was slightly different and I was going to let the matter drop because I didn't think it was worth it to rise to your bait but you've directed another post at me so I figured I should at least have my say.
In that game you were Africa, I was Russia and our opponents were Asia and South America.
You split your fleet in the Atlantic and Indian oceans whilst I stuck most of my carriers up top. I told you in advance that I was going to do that. You made no objections.
At the beginning I did offer to place some of my fleet in the Atlantic but you were confident that you could keep anything from slipping past EU
Your confidence was well placed because you took out most if not all of South Americas fleet so I had nothing to worry about in terms of being attacked from there.
Anyway I put all but 3 of my battleships in the Pacific. It turned out in the end they didn't have much to do as most of SA's fleet was in the Atlantic.
The battle in the Indian ocean was the reverse of that in the Atlantic. You pretty much got creamed by Jabba the Slut I think it was.
My carriers up top were able to take out 2 Asian silos pretty much immediately. The remainder stubbornly refused to die although they took one or two hits each from my bombers. I eventually got them but it took several attempts and most of my bomber nukes to do it.
Meanwhile, you after having taken out SA's fleet managed to scout a couple of SA silos and an airbase which I hit from the pacific with a few subs that I'd sent that way. I got the airbaase and one of the silos. The other didn't get hit at all.
I think you eventually scouted the rest and hit them with your silos nukes.
Unfortunately you took a bit of a pounding on your cities from the Indian ocean which you failed to defend. That was my fault. I admit it.
I should have send a load of ships in that direction on the assumption that you couldn't multi-task and take care of both your fleets. So apologies for that.
In my defence I thought I was playing with an expert player who knows high strategy. A person who has read all sorts of books that tell him how to use an enemies abilites, strengths and weaknesses against him. A highly knowledgeable person who cuts/pastes Nietzsche quotes obtained from Wikipedia in order to broaden our minds. A person who would be able to cope with attacks on two fronts. I lulled myself into a false sense of security because Daddy Why? was on the case and going to win the battle single handedly. I got the impression that you neither needed nor wanted my help so I stayed back and did my best to support you from afar. I did get a couple of my battleships in the way of your carriers in the Atlantic for a while. I kept trying to move them out of the way but every time I changed direction you must have been redirecting your carriers at the same time so we just kept blundering into each other. I don't think it caused you too much problems but it was a bit embarrassing. I very rarely get my ships stuck with my partners.
You also said right from the start that you would launch you silos early. I waited and waited but that didn't materialise.
As you said we did win but you seemed to think it was from all your efforts where as I tend to think I contributed at least a small amount. I took out silos and airbases. I hit a few cities. I generally kept the pressure on the other guys. Obviously you did too. Your fleet was always going to meet the enemy before mine simply because of where we were so your naval battles were naturally intense.
You made no effort to tell me if there was anything specifically that you wanted me to do so I did what I thought was best and concentrated on silos and undefended cities. Your battle (I hesitate to use the word) in the Indian ocean was over in minutes. There was no time for me to redirect my battleships to assist you.
They say a bad workman always blames his tools.
I was a tool that you could have used but didn't.
You made no attempt to interact with me.
You let your personal hatred of me get in the way of effectively coordinating attacks on the enemy.
I've partnered many people and with some of them, words are unnecessary because we've played together before so often but if there was anything specifically that you needed me to do then frankly you should have told me and I would have done my best to accommodate you.
When we had our 1v1 game you only just beat me.
If I'm a TOTAL suck at this game then surely that means that you merely suck.
I know what my shortcomings are. I think its high time you learnt to accept yours.
In game you still retain my respect. In the forum and probably in real life you're still an arsehole.
I look forward to reading your drunken vitriolic response but I won't be replying to anything further you have to say on the matter.
I do however look forward to our next game regardless of whether or not we are on the same side.
