Yeah, may be... Still, I've got a question. What is the sense of using Passive subs, if carriers can detect them as well as Active ones?

People don't see a big pinging object on their radar if you use passive subs. Remember that carriers only see subs if they're looking for them (i.e. in antisub mode). Personally, if I see a mysterious pinging, I nuke it straight off.

Passive subs are stealthy, that's about it. They can however fire if provided with radar. I dont recommend it active subs are far more effective
and the passive fireing is way to dodgy.
And i dont suggest to use them before they've been depleted, however sometimes when you need the extra edge that's what you need to do.

Yep. Regular old radar coverage is enough. Only nukes, carriers and collateral damage can destroy them, though.
