The wrath of Diplomats

Postby The TanK » Sun Sep 07, 2008 10:52 pm

Hi everyone, I must say that I hate and like at the same time Diplomacy. It's always fun when the warheads aren't heading to you, you just have to sit back and watch lol... but when you get the first to be kick out of the SO MIGHTY GREEN ALLIANCE you eat dandelion's roots. So, would you please, people give me some useful tips to play well in diplomacy.

I would appreciate

Thx

DON'T SPEAK.

AT ALL.

Let your units do the talking.
Seriously, every time I say something another player betrays me.

Be more valuable in the alliance than out of it.

Make sure all your moves are visibly supporting the alliance, even if they have another motive.

Don't telegraph your intentions.

Pay very close attention to any alliance units near you; particularly bombers over you when you're in a fight with a theoretically shared enemy. They can easily drop a couple of presents on your silos on the way past and you might not notice until it's too late.

Make freinds.
example: You are Eu. Ask russia to put your and his silos together to get better AA-Fire.
Then he might even join you if you get kicked, cause your vitality has value for him and he cant affort to have you as a foe.

Hehe, I don't know how many games that has backfired only to have Russia backstab and cause both our territories to go up in white flames. :P (cause you know I don't go out without a fight )

alliances of three players are good..... usually you can take on the other players even if they ally as a three as well, (I like six players diplo) tho an allinace bigger than this doesn't work...... ALWAYS falls apart..... and try not to ally with people to close to you, its easier to figure out if they'e trying to screw you.....

If you are the one who got kicked first you need to play in the chat window as much as on the map. It's a diplo game. You HAVE TO talk to your opponents.

Usually it takes 2 players before things in the green alliance start deteriorating.

You know, i really hate you for that, all that games you have won without killing a single life.

So people, if you play with Solanum, always have a plan for the last minutes, and never never listen to his "team win" and "i dont care" blah blah :P

haha, i always rock at diplomecy!
because i make secret allys, so its eventually 4 vs 2 in my favor >:)
But if the people you ask say no and say they are gonna boot you, just say "Relax, no one wanted to leave at all, so im stayin"
So as soon as the clock hits one! BAM! all my allies are on blue with me!
haha and the host guy is all "I should of killed you when i had the chance...."
but beware, because my allys faught and defected, raelly fun!
i wish more people played though
