This game is unplayable because of wankers!

Postby Lulu » Sun May 18, 2008 4:27 pm

Hey all,

I had now 4 games in a row, where one person didn't place anything and set the game to real time at DEFCON 2.

So almost two hours wasted for nothing.

That sucks.

Why don't you play on Dedcons?... You know, playing on usual servers and then complaining is sort of stupid :P

I'm sorry that you are encountering the baser element of Defcon players, though I assure you that we've all been there.

I play almost exclusively on dedcon servers, and I rarely have a problem with players now. If you do have a problem, report the game and player in the general forum and the server admins can ban them.

Does that include people who are verbally abusive?

I've come across a few who are really offensive and get even worse once you nuke all their silos

Thanks for the answers!

I played defcon pretty often when it came out. I never had any problems with other players back then.

I don't care if they are verbally abusive and I'm neither complaining about noobs, surely I myself am noob in this game. I'm talking about people who intentionally ruin games by not placing anything, setting the speed on real time and starting alliance requests every second.

Are the dedcon servers available in the normal join list, or do I have to install some other software? And how are dedcon-servers more secure?

DedCon All Star TotallyRandom

Default mode:
DedCon Test MOR Default
DedCon All Star Default

1vs1:
DedCon Test Duel 1 and 2

DedCon Test Tournament 1 and 2

Diplomacy:
Ake Group Diplomacy and Diplomacy Premium Servers

RadarDefense mode:
DedCon Test RadarDefence

Survivor mode:
DedCon Test KnifeFight (If Tripper is present)

Orgazmo mode:
DedCon Test Orgazmo (If dty or RazorJack present)

For the answers about your questions thanks to visit http://www.dedcon.net/

The DedCon's have a /ignore chat command that helps you ignore them. Personally, I'm too lazy to ban people for what they say on my servers, extreme cases are of course an exception.

From what I've seen, in all servers, is that this is still like a 'chat room' (/me gets sick), and you have all differnt types of ages and differnecs that will clash.

For best results, play on any of the servers that has a Slow Down Budget, and just not read or ignore the rest of the drama and you should be fine. =]

**Hint, the servers you want to play on always has some sort of bot sitting in the spectator room, test by typing /help into the chat pane, if it gives you a response you are on a secure server.**

*Edit* Sidenote, I just realized how ridiculously large my av is, I will fix later tonight

Suggested Standard Defcon Responses (S.S.D.R.)

to...
Smack-talk: Bite me U MUPPET!!
A backstab: U ABSOLUTE SWINE!!
Troll slowing down the game: (go fetch a drink and something to eat).
Solanum pm'ing you in Diplomacy: SORRY CAN'T HEAR U!!

There you have it, S.A.T.S. another genius idea from the Dept. of (defcon) Edercation.

Dammit, that's what weps said to me last night  (actually, he was ruder, but hey!)

/me doesn't see why people get upset about PMing and backstabbing in diplomacy. Isn't that what the game is all about?

Cheers, Tripper

Why doesn't weps come on the forums no more? :(

I miss a lot of the old skool players, like good ol' Erasmus J Homeowner, and many others :(

As soon as my exams are finished, I'm gonna start playing Defcon properly again. If you see a noob called SexxxyGrrrl1986, you'll know it's me trying to hide my shame ;)

Haha, I'm sure I played you a few times last year :? MOR said you were Cobra Commander's sister though  .

@ Whenever someone pm's me in Diplo. I assume they are trying to soften me up for a massive stab. (suppose it's to do with bitter experience more than the pm'ing itself :x ).

Lies, lies I tell you! If I'm PMing you its because I want you to stab someone else ... it's rude to say that sort of thing in public

One needs the old alliances-within-alliances to use kickvotes to best effect, as well...
