Hey all,

I had now 4 games in a row, where one person didn't place anything and set the game to real time at DEFCON 2.

So almost two hours wasted for nothing.

That sucks.

Why don't you play on Dedcons?... You know, playing on usual servers and then complaining is sort of stupid

I'm sorry that you are encountering the baser element of Defcon players, though I assure you that we've all been there.

I play almost exclusively on dedcon servers, and I rarely have a problem with players now. If you do have a problem, report the game and player in the general forum and the server admins can ban them.

I've come across a few who are really offensive and get even worse once you nuke all their silos

I played defcon pretty often when it came out. I never had any problems with other players back then.

I don't care if they are verbally abusive and I'm neither complaining about noobs, surely I myself am noob in this game. I'm talking about people who intentionally ruin games by not placing anything, setting the speed on real time and starting alliance requests every second.

Are the dedcon servers available in the normal join list, or do I have to install some other software? And how are dedcon-servers more secure?

You can find the DedCon Servers like any Server in your Defcon browser, and that is the list of the Secure Servers by the Mode of the Game:

Totally Random mode:

The DedCon's have a /ignore chat command that helps you ignore them. Personally, I'm too lazy to ban people for what they say on my servers, extreme cases are of course an exception.

From what I've seen, in all servers, is that this is still like a 'chat room' (/me gets sick), and you have all differnt types of ages and differnecs that will clash.

For best results, play on any of the servers that has a Slow Down Budget, and just not read or ignore the rest of the drama and you should be fine. =]

**Hint, the servers you want to play on always has some sort of bot sitting in the spectator room, test by typing /help into the chat pane, if it gives you a response you are on a secure server.**
