Petty, Thoughtless and Bloody Revenge.

Postby Chimaera » Mon Oct 15, 2007 7:56 pm

So here is the situation: Diplomacy, and despite all efforts (and a bit of initial luck, grabbing South America) I am sitting pretty at the bottom with a measly 24 million survivors, with russia on 100 and Europe on about 80. Everyone else is out of it, with the nearest being asia on about 60 with zero nukes, I assume. With my full complement of silo nukes, what do I do? The EU-Russia Alliance is so damn strong I can't kill enough people to bring both of the alliance members below 60. The victory timer will start as soon as I use my nukes.

1. Say GG, fire my nukes into the ocean, and leave.
2. Blast North America of the face of the planet, as it has been one of my main enemies. Bring myself up to 5th place (only 2 million kills are necessary for this)
3. Kill some CPU-controlled and up 'til now allied Africans.
4. Kill Asia, equally pointlessly.
5. In a completely futile and petty gesture of hatred, fire everything at Moscow and Leningrad, even though they never actually fired anything at me. Elevate Europe to an undeserved victory.

I picked option 5. What would you choose?

Probably try to ally with them and then backstab. If possible. Otherwise try to remove the perfect 100 score.

Fire everything at Europe (maybe a bit at north america too, but launch them after you've hit Europe). Hopefully then the player will take the opportunity to try and hit Russia himself once he sees no-one else is going to do it for him. All this should cause the most amount of destruction from yourself, while making the overall scores a little more even. If you're lucky, everyone who has anything left will now launch right at the no.1 player (Russia), leaving them with even less survivors than you.

Also remember there's not much chance of actually hitting Moscow from down there if he's allied with Europe.

Not being entirely foolish, I killed a couple of the european silos first, then fired about 20 nukes each at Leningrad and Moscow. They each ended with 0.0 survivors. Even though in the later stages Russia then betrayed Europe, it was far too late, and Europe won. I came fifth because I had a couple of bombers left and killed a few more americans.
