Indeed. All the more reason to nuke it. :D

Indeed.

Also, many people don't think about the psychological affect of naval nuking. Random nuking doesn't do much good, like Russia hitting the armpit of India when S. A. is nowhere near it. But, hitting the water can confuse and distract the other player, regardless of any ships that might get missed. A good example is holding somebody back from getting by Iceland. You can hold off an entire fleet with a few good bombers and a couple of ships.

I really can't get a bomber to do naval nuking. I use silos but it is very cumbersome. COuld someone please give me directions on how to use bombers to nuke the ocean?

There are a couple ways, the most practical that I have found is have your bomber targeting a far away point to fire it's nuke. It will fly merrily along with an armed nuke, since it's target is out of range. Once an enemy ship appears withing it's firing range (try to get as close as you can before launching) order your bomber to target nearby the enemy ship (clicking on the ship directly will result in the bomber switching to naval mode).

The problem with this technique is sometimes that you have bomber lock. No matter what you do the nukes won't fly.

To pull off a successful nuke run just right click in the general direction and your nuke will be as free as willy whenever, wherever.

I can honestly say that I have never experienced that problem (or if I have, then it has been such a remote occurrence that I don't remember it ever happening).

Can't say i've ever had this happen either...reason why this might occur: you're right clicking inside your bomber combat area to drop the nuke when infact you need to left click to drop it. Right clicking only changes the bombers destination, left clicking changes the target.

I have annoying bomber lock all the time. When the bomber is closing in on the target the selection gets locked if you left clicked. It sometimes happen with drop zones being way off too.

Drop zones that are out of your combat range? there shouldn't be any trouble dropping a nuke that has reached it's end timer inside the bombers combat zone :? i guess some players are luckier than others then...i played Dr Strangelove and some others in a 4 players yesterday, he was Africa and ALL his silos wouldn't fire at my nukes/units...i was very happy :D Africa and Europe were not, lol.
