Quick race, eh? (tiny pic video)

It's clear that subs do indeed slow things down. Notice how the single ships, moving at the same speed as their six fleet counterpart, overtake the mixed fleets in just a short time.

Also, does using mixed fleets mean you need to do more fleet nuking because you get less power than when you use same ship fleets? I'd love to spec you playing a 1 v 1 Feud, but I can never see you online.

I'm trying to do some experimenting with fleets until I find something that works out for me.

I will usually keep my carriers set to bombers. Once the enemy comes into range I either stop or begin pulling back, depending on if they are coming towards me or not. I scramble the bombers, then fighters as soon as they switch over.

As for fleet nuking, I use that tactic very heavily, regardless of the situation.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the tips.

There is a problem with this. Sometimes, after placing (when I move my units), they will get re-arranged into something other than the way I intended. Anyone else having this problem?

I havn't noticed it as of yet, but I'll try to do some testing on it.

Yep, they do sometimes switch formation. Strange indeed.

Due to turning? ... or perhaps losing a ship and "re-forming"?

I think it comes from "re-forming", becuase it did it to me after I put my fleet into a hard turn.

Yeah, it seems to always happen during reforming. It's quite painful to watch :(

Anyone who's played me knows that I micromanage my fleets in groups of 1 or three, never mixing. Although I might want to learn this for a speed game (minimum 5x speed) I ussually have the patience to micro individually :D

btw that's a very wierd order for fleets. I'd make everyone's life easier if it was just 1,2,3,4,5,6 clockwise o.o
