annoying Kamikaze Fighters

Postby bonedaddy » Mon May 07, 2007 9:41 am

Is there any way to tell those stupid pilots that they never should get too far away from any refuel station? Sometimes it's necessary, but if I airborne all of my carrier fighters to crush a fleet and I lose them all just because they won't refuel themselfes, it's plain stupid!!! They keep airborne until no target is last!

It's impossible to micro!

its is possible at 5x min speed

loosing fighters in exchange for bombers or scouting is ALWAYS a good investment

He is correct that fighters will continue to fly until all enemies are out of range. This is just part of the fighter AI. I find it a bit annoying that they will not land, even if you tell them to. I would like to see this behaviour changed. That being said, fighters are expendable. You can restock carriers from airbases, and airbases regenerate fighters. Otherwise, launch fewer fighters, and micro those fewer fighters more efficiently.

You get one new fighter every 16 minutes of game time (give or take a bit).
