how to defend from polar bombers

Postby pac » Fri Apr 20, 2007 5:25 pm

Hi!
Recently im getting the north american continent swarmed with bombers from carriers in polar waters just above Canada/Alaska. Do you think it is worth the effort to place carriers/battleships/airbases near there or is it better to concentrate on offensive actions? What defensive measures would you take?
To me the carriers are too far away to hit them effectively by far away airbases or by silostrike.

just interested in your opinion

When I play NA, I tend to put one or two airbases in the far north to protect from attack from that region. However, it is not something to be overly concerned about. It is far better, I think, to put some airbases on the north side of most of your installations, and keep patrols of fighters flying to the north to preempt such an attack when it arrives.

xander is right. It is unnecessary in most cases to do anything other than make sure you can send fighters to intercept those bombers. Problem solved.
