In default scoring mode, -2 points per million instead of +2! Be careful! Note that you can still bomb the land based structures of your ally if you turn off cease-fire before your nukes hit.

just to add to this, in survivor mode when u hit allied cities it dosent do anything to you score but it does count as a loss for them, when i found that out i was luvin it lol
How about a nice game of chess?

Are you sure? I've just tested this out in a DIPLOMACY game and I lost points... i too thought it was a great idea, just drop a sneaky nuke on all their major cities early on. still a good idea with radars maybe

If you nuke your allies in a Diplomacy game, it counts as collateral damage. But in Survivor, they also lose the points ;)

I found that out the hard way, and received the most gratifying moment in the game so far:

Gerbil, you bastard.

Just made me smile.

I am red. My allie was green. He didn't notice 10-15 of my bombers flying towards his territory. I almost won, but then all of the players made an alliance against me. I ended up losing by about 15 points.

The backstabbing that tellatubby speaks of can be seen here in more detail:

Not just the backstabbing, but the pay back. :)

tellatubby - Great job playing in the tournament. You almost managed to win it! Maybe next time, eh?

Backstabbing

Postby Zimtallist » Wed Oct 04, 2006 6:42 am

It was a full game, I was Europe. It was diplomacy mode (best for backstabbing), I early on joined with russia and east asia, tried to ally with africa but africa declined. So, i got SA to join and then we all sprung on poor little Africa. Once africa saw he couldnt win, he quit. So we finished off most of africa then went after NA. Right as i started moving subs towards NA, NA nuked the hell out of SA. Mexico city had .2 mill left! So we surrounded NA, blew it to hell and i had used almost none of my nukes, so i proposed to Russia and East Asia that we take out SA. SA had been crippled by NA and barely had 40 points, we wiped SA out easily, and right as SA was quitting i heard a nuke signal and noticed i had been kicked from my alliance. My allies assumed i would try to pit them against each other (which i would have) and decided to finish me. >-<

Took out his radar and silos on east USA while enemy nukes was coming. So he thought it was the enemy nukes that did it. Then left alliance after all radar and silos gone (it started victory timer) and launch 2 nukes to each city, 3 on the bigger ones.

Won without opening a single silo the entire game.
