How to Lose the Least

1) Never, ever, think you can take on the EU by yourself.
1a) As such, when South America tells you "We can take on the Green" in diplomacy mode, they're usually lying.
2) When making plans to betray your allies, make sure you're on whisper
3) Never make a vote to kick someone that you're not sure you can win
4) Always remember to destroy those damned radars BEFORE you surface with your entire fleet of subs
5) Europe is not - NOT - invincible
6) Don't gloat before your nuke actually hits the enemy's town
7) Remember you can see your allie's nukes remaining
Remember they can too
9) Remember they can see your subs on nuke mode
10) SURVIVOR MODE: Remember the goal is to have the most survivors (duh) not make the biggest boom
11) Remember to check beginning game speed...
12) Remember you can't place units after Defcon 3
13) Remember 11 and 12.


These are just a few of the things I didn't do in my first night of Defconing. It was a blast though. Feel free to add to the list.

soooooo true! Last night me & Ked went after Europe/Russia group... big mistake. We ended up wasting most of our misles tring to take down radar & AA... should of gone after the america's. They were to busy sending subs our way.

I'd like to add one:

13) don't forget about going around South America & Africa. The ocean's huge & it' hard to spot subs in that large area by accident.

It is so amusing to see how the tactics of this game have progressed. I think virtually all of us agree that Europe is, by a significant margin, the weakest terrirory in offensive and defensive capabilities, especially in a 1v1.

I would agree with your perception there but it depends mostly on the player in control of said country.

I could give you a rocket launcher to kill me with and i could just pick up a stone but whose to say i'm not better at throwing stones than you are at firing rockets? (stupid example but i'm in a stupid mood).

lol only problem is the explosion is prolly almost as large as the distance u can throw a rock so i can kill us both:D
