Introversion

I just recently purchased the Uplink/Darwinia pack from Steam after a friend told me how great uplink was. After watching him play and some youtube videos, I excitedly bought it.

The problem is that I start the game and right from the get go, my mouse and trackpad stop working. I can hit enter to get to the screen that says "About us" and "Register a new agent". No matter what buttons I press or where/how I click, nothing works. Its full screened and I cant exit it so it requires a hard shut down.

Is there anyone out there who has the same problem and found a fix?

Specs:
Mac Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Dual core i7
4 gbs Ram
256 mb video card

To anyone else who has this problem with the steam version...
1) Open Steam
2) Right click on Uplink in Library
3) Click the Betas tab
4) Choose to opt into Betas

It downloads a patch and now my mouse/trackpad work.

If you google this problem, you will end up in this thread, but the above solution didn't work for me. After activating the beta in Stream, no update were downloaded. Nothing happened.
