From our own store we sell only the Windows and Linux versions of Uplink. For the Mac version you need to get it from Ambrosia Software

To install the Linux version, run:

Code: Select all

./uplink-complete-1.31.sh

If that doesn't work try:

Code: Select all

sh uplink-complete-1.31.sh

It should install in ~/uplink

Ok, I've tried the demo for a week or so and decided to buy the game because I found it very interesting despite the lack of nice graphics.
So I got a little quick (out of excitation) and bought the game from introversion as the specs read
* 300MHZ processor
* 32MB RAM
* 25MB Hard disk space
* CDROM drive

which I all fullfill.

And next step is dowloading ...
no MacOsX version
Ok
no problem
I tryed the linux version, installed it but it won't launch
./uplink: Fatal error: missing data files (*.dat) in ./lib
If you have just installed the patch to the full version of the game
you will need to copy *.dat from your existing uplink installation

I have not patched anything, I have not removed any .dat file and even tryed to replace them by the one of the demo version.

Now what ? is there any way to make this game I BOUGHT run on my computer ?

Should I had a second glance at the Features http://store.introversion.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=48
It's not usually here that I know which OS run a programm. And as long as I've tryed the demo I was knowing most of its feature (or at least I thought so...).
Even the docs coming along with the MacOSX demo states that one can buy the game at Introversion site.

If someone is to tell me that I've got to bought the game from Ambrosia then :
1/ I will be very angry
2/ I would say to change those statements on the docs and on the specs needed or otherwise provide link accordingly to buy the game at the right place!

Yeah, you will have to buy it from Ambrosia. Try contacting Introversion directly about your problem.

Well thanks your right, I shouldn't have rush to buy the game and just stick to the demo I found on the web site.
My bad habit of going quickly and just reading what seems releving
