fonts.dat file and font size

It's been posted before that the font size is very small, and I have to agree.  If you play at a high resolution or in a window with your regular screen resolution high, it's next to impossible to read for any significant period of time without massive eye strain.

I notice that there's a fonts.dat file.  Does anybody know what kind of file this is?  Is it in any normal font format?  Is there a way that anyone knows of that we could get at the font and edit it?

It is just a zip file renamed and only holds the true type fonts for the game.  I don't think editing it will do any good.  I would contact Ambrosia and ask them about as they are the ones charged with the Mac game.  :)
