Ok, I just downloaded the Uplink demo, and have so far been unable to play.  When I get to the screen that asks for the name and password, the you enter the info and click "done", right?  When I click done, then the button lights up like it is going to take me to another screen, but then the game freezes.  The music still plays and I can move the mouse and force quit, but cannot access the toolbars, windowshade, etc.  Please help!

I see it's been a few days since you asked this .. have you had any luck?

You could try unistalling the game and installing it again,  Sometimes that sorts things out.

Well, I know that I was and still am having problems using the mac version on certain computers.  (Mainly i use my roomates laptop to play uplink.  My biege doesn't seem to like the game, won't let me click links and such.)  I wrote ambrosia about this, they sent me a password protected beta.  Maybe this will work for u?

That would be nice.  I'll cross my fingers for you.
