1) ask questions in hints and tips
2) Have you tried clicking on the buttons beside "about us" and "register as an agent" ?
3)Do you have a demo, a registered copy of the game, a store bought copy of the game, or an illegal copy?

I've had the same problem.  For the intro screen I can press enter and go past it but for the other screen (about and register) it doesn't do anything.  It's like the game isn't recognizing that I am clicking my mouse.  I also am using the demo version.

I had that trouble with the demo too. Have you tried this:

On the opening screen, before you login, click on the "graphics options" button at the bottom of the screen (it's the second one from the left) and then put a checkmark next to "softwaremouse".

Then click on "Apply Changes" and then "close" and then the button that looks like a return key.

This helped me when I had that problem.

Good luck!

I heard somewhere that Logitech mice don't work properly with the Mac version of Uplink, that could be your problem :)

The suggestion, would be to re-download the demo, and start again. There's obviously a bug somewhere. Have some patients. Or if the files the SIT version of the demo. Ie. compressed, make sure you have  the latest version of Aladins Expander. To un-compress the folder. Files get screwed up quite alot when downloading although you never get error messages during the process.
God, I hate it when that happens...
