I bought the windows version of Uplink to run in VPC on my Mac, now you have created the OS X version is there anyway I could use the Uplink Windows serial for my Mac?
Seeing as I used the old Uplink on my mac anyway :(

I dont think there is. I dont know much about the way security on the mac version works, but I think there's a serial or something you need. If you want the full Mac version, im afraid you need to buy it.

wasn't aware that the windows version HAD a serial, just the code card :/

maybe if your lucky you could call the company and ask??? lol  But consitering that the mac version and the PC version is made my different companies ( i think) it probably wouldn't work

Nope, the game was ported over to Mac, but it was still designed by one person, Chris. It was published by Ambrosia for the mac version, though the game is Introversions'.

Although I believe the Mac source is controled by Contraband Ent.  :)

I think in terms of legalities, Uplink is owned and copyrighted by Introversion, and thats for all platforms and all releases (including the MAC and US release). Contraband were just hired to do the port, but they have no control over the game or source.

Then again I could be wrong

Chris seemed to indicate when I asked him about releasing the Mac code, that Contraband had at least some control over the code.  :)

Even still... I dont think you should get a freebie mac edition just cuz you bought the pc version. after all - you dont get GTA:vice city free on teh pc if you had the ps2 version do you? hmm?!?!
