Do Gateways made for Windows version work for Mac?

I might have simply inserted the file incorrectly, but I downloaded some standard Gateway mods and they show up in the List of purchasable Gateways but when I select it my game crashes.  This happens everytime, with every Gateway.  Is there something wrong with me, or with the fact that these gateway mods were intended to be used on Windows?  Any info would be sweet

Some of the gateways are unstable, but they should work on the Mac (if they work on the PC), assuming you have registered your version.  Here is a link to the thread on this over on the Ambrosia boards.  :)

Im registered and all, heh actualy PAID for mine this time... Im losing touch I know. Ok man thanks for the info.  Btw what gateways do you use and why?

Most of the time I stick with the normal gateway (mostly the very low level ones for the challenge).  I don't do much with the whole mod thing.  Don't really know why.  :)

Ok I make a new folder within "Data" labeled "Data" and inside that I make a "Gateways" and a Graphics", within the Graphics I made another new folder called "Gateway".  I follow the heirarchy that the programs have follwed and I put the resective files into the proper folders.  I SEE the gateway listed in the Uplink "Mall" but when I try to select it - BAM game shuts off!  It stinks, cause I want to ticker and it wont let me:(  Any mac users have any ideas???

You should end up with these directories:

Uplink/Data/data/gateways
Uplink/Data/graphics/gateway

I have not done this on the Mac, but most gateways will already have this setup and all you will need to do is unzip it to the Uplink directory.  :)

I found that some of the text files for the gateways come with extra header info thats not necessary. If you delete that, so the file starts with the name of the gateway, then they seem to work OK.

i get the same problem plz hlp...
