Upgrade to 1.31, but too lazy to start from scratch, so...

Hello fellas, I installed the 1.31 patch and the game says it's not entirely necessary to start as new agent, but if I continue, most of the new features will be disabled. But I played for quite some hours the unpatched game and don't want to lose the progress I've made. My question is: Will I miss something important from the game if I cntinue with my first account?

LANs. The storylines both have a LAN mission in them. You may not be able to complete the storylines without the LAN missions.
Also, mods, like FBI and Onlink. The patch makes them possible.

The game might crash if you haven't already completed the storyline with your old user
