Hello,

I've just installed the 1.31 (static) patch for Linux. I have not patched Uplink before. After the patch the game runs a lot slower for some reason.

I've tried playing around with the resolutions, but even at the lowest one it runs slower.

The original version used to run very smoothly, but after the patch the graphics are jumpy, the mouse movements are jerky and when text appears on the screen it is printed in jerky blocks, as opposed to the smooth character-by-character of the original game (sorry if I'm not making this too clear).

I'm running a 700MHz P3 laptop with a 8MB ATI Mach64 Rage Mobility card. (I know it's not all that great but the game ran fine before :-S)

Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I can get it running smoothly again (apart from upgrading hardware)?

I'm not certain how to help, other than that asking this in the Bug Reports fourm would probably get you help a lot faster. Sorry I couldn't do it myself. :(
