Introversion

Alright well, I downloaded the game, and when i try to install the FBI mod, i click on the fbi mod exe, it runs and then it says uplink needs to restart ok, so then i click on my uplink exe, and everything is the same!!. i extracted everything from the fbi mod file to my uplink folder, I'm on patch 1.55? it says on the bottom of my game

I think the FBI mod only works with the older patch 1.31

you can add lans skins and custom maps, also there is the onlink mod but peoples recent experience on this site seems to say its not up to scratch at the minute

I tryed them, but they seem to do nothing, either that or i dont really know what they're used for

what have you been trying to do? new skins or lans or what? because either one is a little different to activate, best thing i can advice is go to modlink.net, they have advice on what to do with mods

I tried adding MicronLAN, But I'm not exactly sure what I'm suppose to be seeing. or what it does. I also tried adding Hubble World Map didn't work either. I have uplink hacker elite. I also tried adding fbi mod :X

ah, yeah the hacker elite version is not supported here.

yes, and no, they are the same game, but there diffrent versions, uplink is the one we support here, uplink hacker elite was sold by a third party that basically screwed introversion over.

Ah, so is that why the mods dont work?, and i should go ahead and buy the one here?, and is it steam only?

1. No, the mods probably wont work for the proper version either, as they were made for old versions
2. couldnt hurt
3. No, you can get the cd of it, usually bundled with defcon and/or darwinia. check introversions website, i think they still sell it on there

Umm alright, what extactly is the difference from elite, and the regular, is there anything new or is elite just a rip off and has all the same shit

same game, just instead of supporting some company in america that went bankrupt you will be supporting a few guys in the UK that make some of the best games out there,
