RedShrt2.exe - The Guide

Okay, after seeing a bunch on threads relating to mostly the same questions I have, I decided to make one thread to end them all. What I'm looking for (and I hope it's not to much to ask) is a complete guide to using/installing/understanding the RedShrt2 utility. What versions it's good for, what the procedure is, etc. I'm hoping this will get stickied as well so all the noobs like I can learn to crack saves. Here's hoping.

I forgot to mention, the error I'm getting is:

The DLL MSVCR80.dll could not be found in the specified path

It then goes on to mention 6 places. Should I copy it from the Uplink dir to all those?

Copy MSVCR80.dll from Uplink directory in the directory where you have put redshrt2.exe?

As stated elsewhere I won't give in details how to crack save game. Use Search or Google.

Yeah, I copied the DLL to every directory that it mentioned. It worked. Now I just need to learn hex editing
