LAN Creation Help

I made a LAN for uplink and installed it and everything...But when I get to the main server it asks for the voice of the sys admin...Is there some way I can either get rid of this or make a voice work?

Another Question...Can you edit the Files on the Main Server?

No and no. LAN systems work this way be default. To change this, you would need the DevCD

Actually for the first question it is yes, for anyone else who was wondering. All you have to do is make a txt file named companya with the names of the companies you want to add, that will allow your LAN to have a voice that works. But make sure you name it the same thing.




P.S. Does Onlink come out January 5th?

EDIT: does anyone know why the "a" after company? would "b" do anything?

just figured this out, the companies on that list will be the only companies in the game, besides the government, companies important to the game (arc, arunmor, darwin) and special servers.
And of course uplink

If I am right the game then tries to keep the same number of companies so it will add things after the names to make more companies ( Whatever Computers, Whatever microsystems, Whatever plc, Whatever corp, Whatever software, Whatever systems, Whatever associates, Whatever Technology, Whatever labs) I think that is all of them.

I hope that this will help people who want to add companies to the game.


P.S. If it matters I tested this in the FBI Mod (because I wanted to use "the son of the creator" to test the gateway I made at the sametime and didn't really want to save up the money.

If anyone here is a lot smarter than me at this stuff please correct me.

What other .txt files can you make?

I know Companya, fornames, surnames, agentaliases.

And I also know that you can make gateways and Lans with txt, but what other mods can you make in txt files, or at least without the dev cd (I can't afford it lol).
