Hello everyone, as a loyal fan of uplink and Linuxuser (Debian GNU/Linux), I'm very frustrated that all uplink mods are for windows . Is there a chance to release the linux sourcecode? As a student of computer science, I'm thinking about to port some mod (previously the FBImod) to linux. As far as I know uplink is using the SDL lib to communicate with the hardware, for me this means that (hopefully) there are not many changes in the game "mechanics" between linux and windows. Or? So the porting won't be to difficult.
I would like to hear what you think about this.

 Just a idea ...

Well in a case like this if you email the Introversion team they may sell you the linux code for the same price as the standard windows one that the rest of us bought. As Chris didn't do the linux conversion though I'm not quite sure of the legalities involved, but I guess an email wouldn't hurt.

There's no Linux Souce on the DevCD?

hmm....
*Katana Steel Wonders, not buy and stay out in the cold, to buy and port the code himself, or to buy and hope Chris would mail the linux code to me.

well I'll probely buy the DevCD anyway even though there's no Linux source on it, and try to get Inroversion
to give/sell it to me at some point.

I'm pretty sure the DevDisk comes with the linux source, but I think neott is doing the linux ver of the FBI mod himself

must be beer induced memory...

The only source not on the disk is the Mac source, since that is the only source they don't totaly own.

For those with access to the dev fourm know of one other thing that is not on the devdisk source wise...

The linux conversion was done by one of their friends (John Knottensomething), so I don't think they have any legal issues with the code
