Sound fine and dandy, but where can i find these new simulations? I really whould like to play the other games so i can compare it to Uplink. Until then i have nothing to say about the other simulations. From what I've seen they are mostly cheap simplified uplink clones. One I've seen (called Hacker 3000 or something like that) involves hacking a system (crack program, the interface of said program is identical to Uplinks, with a different texture), then stealing money (from a company computer? Just a oversimplified version of the 'missions' in uplink) and disconnecting before the admin catches you (active trace, anyone?). Several of the other ones also follow this context.

Just stick with Uplink.

There are three types of hacking sims GUI (uplink style) Neuromancer A very sweet game its is technically hacking but its diffrent you can you can't buy it any more. The-underdogs.org offers a free download. and Console which is all console stuff. try exosyphenstudios.com for info on console games they are fun and aren't uplink clones
