I believe it was 199 or something like that.
I never bothered to read it when it was still alive.

So does anyone have a link to the git?

It reached 196 pages IIRC.

Also, it has been pruned off the forum, so unless you go looking around web archives, there's no way of reading it. Only the first few pages were any good anyway.

Hang on - is pruned and deleted the same thing?
Because the movie quote thread is gone, invisible, umpumpable, but you can still reply
Did the same thing happen to the git?

I am not sure how these forums work, but it seems that prunning does not delete threads, as most threads are still accessible.  There may be a seperate delete function, as Icepick seemed to think prunning would free up harddrive space.  The only way to find out about the GIT would be to find a link for it and see if it is still valid.  That I have done and it is indeed gone.  Although threads before it (like the old FAQ) and after it are still here.  I am not sure what the system for total deletion is, if indeed there is a system.  :)

I tried to go back a few topic numbers before a one where someone asked why the git was closed, to maybe find it, but many of them are empty!

What was it Luigi did exactly?

The topic numbers are generally assigned sequentially.  With the invisible thread exploit people were able to create threads with any number they choose.  This was used with a thread number higher (much higher) than the numbers then being used, and so it created large holes in the thread numbers.  The GIT was thread 2490.  :)

But if the invisible threads are invisible for everyone then someone could just spam a random invisible thread and increase his post count to 5000 in a week.

Yes, but as they have not been blocked that is not an issue, although you could spam on the currently invisible threads, but what's the point.  It would be fairly obvious what you were doing (your post count increasing at a much faster rate than it should be), also your name still appears as the last poster on the main page which is another sign you are up to something.  :)

Gee, I dunno, hackerboy, why do you post on 9 month old threads?
