With the 'realism' of the game, I think we should get away from sequel-ish names, that's why I like :

Uplink ver 2.0
Uplink Mk II
Uplink 2003 (or whatever year it comes out)

Nah, the whole "lets stick a year after a game/program name" thing has far been overdone :)

Uplink II: The Search for More Money! :)
LinkUp: I've got it! It's an anagram! Moriarty' real name is "Arty Morty!"

http://www.enderboi.com. I hacked the Global Intelligence Agency and downloaded Despair - in the demo!... but then I was Shot By Feds :(

Why have Uplink in the name at all. So as to stay away from the sequel, although it is, aspect. Why not change the name altogether.

Suggestions:

Revelation 187

Blue NoWhere (Taking from the book)
                       ("Blue NoWhere" by Jeffrey Deaver)

Backdoor U

"A serial killer who goes by the name of Phate, is hacking into machines to find his victims, and then he social engineers them, so he can get close enough to kill them.

The cops have no leads, so the go and get themselves one of the best hackers. His name is Wyatt. He is currently serving time in jail for hacking into the DoD's mainframe and ALLEGEDLY cracking their encryption program known as Standard 12."

This is a very small summary of what the book, The Blue Nowhere by Jeffrey Deaver, is all about.

It is a hacker versus hacker book, with a little actual non computer action as well.

Read it!

Finished the book yesterday... reading it through again... yes, I did enjoy it. However, to my increasing dismay and disappointment... everytime Deaver mentions hacking and typing and all this *nix greatness... he always falls back to... the C: prompt. I suppose you can configure some stuff so that the prompt will be something like "C:>" rather than "/home/usr/me$" or some such... but, the great "hackers" in the book... use the C: prompt? heheh... kinda dork-ish eh? But it's fiction...
*goes into weighing motion* Fiction... Real Life...
but still...

AND the GLOSSARY! lol Why in the front? ...He explains what the acronyms and computer terms are throughout the book. Having the glossary at the beginning only helps if he'd not go into details what they were. At the end would be much more appropriate.

Not that those two things stopped me from enjoying the read. It's been a while since I've read a new book.

BTW, who first recommended this book? I'm too lazy to run a search... Anyway, to that person... thanks!
