Uplink iPad Launched.
(edited by Introversion)
I wondered if anyone at Introversion had considered Uplink on the iPad. The design of the original game seems to match quite well with the design of the iPad interface.
I realise that the underlying game engine would have to be rewritten for the iPad platform, but the game itself could remain intact.
I thought about the iPhone but it lacks the physical space required.
Thoughts?

Uplink was ported to the Mac by Ambrosia Software, you are better off asking there then on here to be honest, but considring it's low requirements I'd say Uplink could well work, and Defcon for that matter.

Hmm, Uplink on iPad?
Wouldn't seem like such a bad idea, just follow what Montyphy said and you'll know if it will happen.

Since when is two days 'old'?
In any case, I can say with certainty that porting the code to the iPad is not difficult. Aside from OpenGL ES requiring vertexArrays instead of glBegin/glEnd calls, it's pretty much the same. Getting permission to release it would be the more difficult part.
If you are interested in this, please push ASW and/or Introversion (again, probably better off ASW), as this could quite easily happen, provided enough interest is demonstrated.

I can just imagine the good things from Uplink on the iPad.
*playing Uplink on a bus* "Ok, gotta change this guys Degree from class 3 to Class 1"
*bus hits pothole* "NO I'M NOT DONE YET D: I GAVE HIM A CLASS 4?!"
And yes I realize I necroed an old post. Beats the difference between June and July

What is normal?
In my opinion, necroing by a month isn't that bad.
Also, in my opinion both Defcon and Uplink would work well on any decent-sized (or stylus/pen-handled), sufficiently powerful touch device ... like the Nintendo DS(i LL), which is the only such device I own.
I even went so far as to begin porting it a few years back - never got further than the application menu, though.

Back on topic; ask/suggest Ambrosia Software about an iPad port if they haven't already said they won't do it. Or do it yourself and contact Introversion when you have a working prototype.
