I played a demo of BS Hacker a while back but they made a huge mistake in it's design. Unlike in Uplink, things are EXTREMELY difficult to do. Using programs, connecting to systems, etc. are all done via text commands. Unless you are a very fast typer and can remember a bunch of commands (kinda like learning DOS all over again) then it's really not much fun. Alot of the fun in Uplink was the ease with which the interface was created. Uplink had a very clean and simple design, whereas BS requires a lot of extra effort. Not saying it's a bad game, if you're willing to learn it, but the learning curve was far too steep for me.

check out Street Hacker
www. Street Hacker.com
very much like BS hacker you do everything with typing, but there is some interesting parts to it. try the demo, see if you can get through it.... I purchased the game, though they designed alot of stuff in that never ever gets used, in comparison to uplink it is maybe a 5 compared to the 10 uplink gets from me. but I like the real hacker feel of it even though some things in the game are useless.
check it out and take a look at the forum, simialar complaints there.
you decide.
I personally wish introversion would make Uplink 2. incorporatiing the typing aspect and the GUI, as really the two are very different. like maybe you have to log in with typing get past all the obstactales to get into your gateway.

Street Hacker, real hacker feel?
Syntax error.
Street Hacker feels no more real then the hacking in Hackers was. Ever notice all these other hacking games, get a tiny bit of coverage, and fade into obscurity yet Uplink is still talked about in PC magazines? It's simple really, Uplink is a good game, the others are not.
