Posting Guidlines?

Postby Kros » Tue May 11, 2004 7:33 pm

I dont want to post this and end up sounding like a total jackass, or come off as to a noob to those that don't know me (and I dont think anyone does)...but...here goes

1. It would be very nice if people would look at a couple pages of posts before posting your own ideas, they could've very recently been suggested by someone else, for example "Having a second OS option" or "Hacking webpages instead of just servers"

2. Please be realistic...Uplink is a huge game when it comes down to the coding, and the way it was coded it dosn't allow certian things to be done without having to rewrite around half of the coding...I dont expect everyone to know what can and can't be done, but things like multiplayer just wont be done inless some brave coders decide to rewrite most of Uplink.

3. If you have a good idea, then it would be nice if you could post more then a sentance about it, tell us some detail so we can get a better idea about it, less flames ;). If you dont think you can post more then 2 sentances about something, then you probably haven't thought out the idea that well.

Right off the top of my head thats all I can think of..and again, im not a regular to these forums, these are things ive noticed from the times ive browsed around here. If anyone else has something esle to add, or just wants to flame me, then feel free to.

Thanks for your time.

(P.S. If something like this has already been posted, then I will defently look dumb, eh?)

Nice idea, but no-one ever reads FAQs etc (look at Hints and Tips FFS)

It's a noble sentiment, but as ReflectingGod says, people never read this kind of thing before posting. If they did, they'd probably be intelligent enough not to bother suggesting some of the ideas they put forward...
