True, sequels are time consuming and sometimes they flop like a pancake. However, I think there is room for improvement.. A patch could be released that did some of the following:
- Made the game remember how the connections were bounced the last time you played Uplink instead of having to do that each time you run Uplink.
- Save Slots. Why only one save per user? Sure, there is a workaround to copy your profile to a backup dir in case you screw up, but still, that would be much more elegant.
- New apps. For example, an app that would store all accounts from, say, a bank to a file or e-mail, instead of having to write everything down on paper. Another nifty idea would be an app called Connection Bouncer in which you could input your first bounced server (like InterNIC) and your final destination. The app would then calculate how your connection should be bounced so that the opposition has a harder time tracking you down. Plus, it gets a bit hectic when you have 50+ servers on the map.
Just some ideas. With that said, I can't wait to see what Darwinia will be like
