Hahaha add IPv6 to the game :)

Make IPv6 ip addresses or make them all real - IPv4 don't go over 255.255.255.255 its not realistic nor is it if you have a 0 in between.
Make proxy address for gateways, make Vhosts, hmm what else... make crackable web pages, take names of free unix os'es and place them in the console or when u log on it should say somethin like FreeBSD 1.3 running on this system .... many ideas, if we would take ideas from all the forum we would be able to make a 700meg game lol.
give me feedback and new ideas
After all what I would do with this game is make it free but im sure the owner wouldn like that now would he...
this is a cool game, if everybody would come up with ideas and join all those ideas together we would have a even better game.

The problem with using "real" IPv4 or even v6 addresses is that if Introversion put an address in the game, and some idiot thought "Hmm, I wonder what happens if I hack it in real life..." is that IV would have a major lawsuit on their hands. Not to be recommended.
By keeping things "made-up", they distance the game from the real world to prevent this sort of scenario occuring.

Why does it matter? It's only a game, and a highly unrealistic one at that.
IP addresses can have 0's in them, as long as the host field doesn't wind up being 0.
I.E. 201.0.3.5 would be legal, but 192.168.1.0 would not be.
That's heavily dependant on what class of IP addresses you're using and your subnet mask as well. For instance, 23.164.232.128 can be invalid (i.e. if it had a subnet mask of 255.255.255.128), and 143.2.4.0 can be valid (class B address, subnet mask 255.255.0.0).
In addition to a host field of zero being bad (since it represents the network), a host field with all bits on (like 192.168.1.255) is also an invalid address for a computer. If all host bits are on the message is sent as a broadcast message (any system on that particular network can pick it up).
'Kay, that was definitely a tangent... If some parts of that don't make sense, I blame sleep deprivision.

can you imagine how amazed was i when i run the game for the first time?
and i was connected to internet, so at the beginning i taught it was real!
