It would be great idea to make a MMOG (MMORPG without RP, it isn't role-playing ;) )

This idea has been tossed around for a long time.
If someone with the DevCD could actually create a working MMORPG of Uplink, it would be---cool if done properly.

It would be very tricky-but it's be worth it. See you on the net! :)

heh, as for thos emotion detectors they are good, but as for the nuke, I have never had to use it, I always find a way to save my GW...

usually it just involves tracing the guy that tracing me, when the line goes read i can basicly assume they are within 3 GW's of my machine, which is either the Uplink test machine or the InterNIC machine for me, so i login look at the logs and start tracing back, then hack the GCD give them a colourful record (couple counts of murder/rape and a parole violation or broken parole) they never get a chance to catch me

also i have had a yellow line for about 24 hours of game time before, so i decided to go install a new modem for the heck of it, the line was there until they completed the installation and then it went away (even though it was there before the guys came to install the hardware). Nowadays I find thats the easiest way to get around them tracking you down... that and being quick to delete the logs from certain servers.

This idea has been around for a long while, but it couldn't really be done as a mod with the DevCD, it would really need to be a whole new game...

A few of us planned such a game, and got into the early development stages, last year, but the project never really happened (yes, we did have permission from IV to work on such a project)...

The problem is it is such a major project and we just didn't have the time to get it off the ground...

Maybe some time in the future.....

Ok, people. I see you're seriously hooked on that MMOG idea, and I believe there is at least 20 or so people here who know how to write programs, 3-4 good graphic designers, maybe some musicians... which all leads to one conclusion: TEAM. I also see that ideas are not a problem, so why not try some teamwork and make the game? Of course, IV guys, we expect your support. Suggestions?

...of course, most of use programmers have lifes beyond programming...

that, and I don't think there are even 20 people with access to the DevCD forum... :/
