I was wondering when exactly the storyline should begin on patch 1.54?

The Ultimate Uplink Guide says:

Ultimate Uplink Guide wrote:The storyline starts at about April 14th 2010 when the top Uplink Agent (deceased) sends you an email.

But I fast-forwarded to that date and I still did not receive the e-mail. So I was wondering if perhaps the storyline was triggered by something else?

P. S. I make that point about patch 1.54 because on patch 1.31, I could fastforward and receive the e-mail.

Maybe it's just me, idk!

It happens when it happens, although I think that sometimes the email is never recived, but i will give you two peices of advice,

first jobs for the story line can sometimes be found on the mission list,

and what if the email was never sent, how would you go about finding what was on it
