Well are all the memory slots full? Are you out of credits?

You haven't really given us much to go on.

Your gateway only has a limited number of memory slots. If you buy enough memory space to fill those slots, you'll need to upgrade your gateway to the AM-CORE if you need more memory.

They put a limit in the game just to annoy people.

I would be really happy if I could fit all my programs and say like 30 voice prints and still have another 100 gigs left for a copy mission on the highest upgrade, but too bad I cant. I just dont take copies then.

there has to be some realism in the game

and why sign your name?

it says who you are in the box at the left

Heaven forbid my life somehow comes down to proving that somebody hacked my uplink forums account, if messages get posted and they arent manually signed, I can say it wasnt me.

I sign everything I ever write to people other than myself, whether I need to or not. Not like it takes more than 1 second out of my life to do so.

Perhaps, but if you are talking about hard drive storage space, that statement would mean that you are making quite a lot of assumptions.

Hard drive space is one of those things where its really hard to come to a point where there is not a way to configure things in ways they werent meant to be configured so you can add more.

Just talking about USB slots on PCs you could plug in 1 external drive normally, or get a device that splits one USB slot into 4 slots and plug in 4 of them and have them all be recognized.

Then you start daisy chaining. Having worked in the IT field for many years in the past I dont see why you couldnt take 1 port and get more than 16 hard drives to work on it if someone really tried hard enough.

It's got nothing to do with realism, it's got to do with the overall flow of the game; as the player gets further, they can also do more because they can afford it etc.

This game was not made in the mid 90s. Please check before making such statements. I joined shortly after it was made. That should give you a hint.
