2 nooby questions, sorry if they've been asked loads of time

Postby dashippy » Mon Dec 31, 2007 7:15 pm

I'm sorry if these have been asked a lot, but I searched and couldn't get accurate results.

1. how do I run Revelation or Faith on a computer. I know it's a console command but I don't know what?

2. how do I make custom Gateways? I've seen a few and does it require coding knowledge?

1. run Revelation
OR
run Faith
(cd usr before either)

2. Not so much coding.
Here's a guide

Doesn't even matter; Uplink's console commands are barely anything like DOS/*nix terminal commands anyway.

cd [location]
delete
run [file]
shutdown

Nope, no resemblance at all.

Well, obviously there's a resemblance. But saying that not knowing Uplink's console is the same as not knowing DOS is like saying DOS and *nix terminals work just like each other.

You the only one saying it is. All I see is a mention that the inability to deal with command prompt well carries over in that part of Uplink.

That quote could have more than one meaning. You took it one way, I took it another. Who knows who interpreted it correctly?

Regardless, my intention wasn't to provoke a debate/argument with my first post...

But you did...

And my Opinion is, Nope... hardly any Resemblance at all between Uplink Commands to DOS.

i would say that there is

ok it is a simplified version but the commands are still pretty much the same

really theres only 2 things that dont happen on uplink dos,
1. you dont need to go to the "C:" drive to go to a diffrent folder
2. you dont need to type *.* to delete all files

apart from that there similar
