free2try

Postby Nabster » Mon Oct 01, 2007 4:17 pm

Hi, I recently purchased uplink from a website called free2try. I thought they were the creators. Then i found this site. i was just wandering if there were any updates or anything and if i can get access to them. I would've bought it from this site but i didn't realise.

I hate sites who resell games. Is that even legal?

Thanks,

Nabster

As you'll see here, Strategy First sell Uplink with dubious legality. There's no guarantee that the most recent patch (see my sig) will work with the SF version, and minimal profits go to the developers. If possible, I'd get a refund from Strategy First/free2try and buy direct from Introversion.

Incidentally, the fact that you've been registered since February doesn't speak volumes of the veracity of your story ;)

i.e. you knew of Introversion's existence, evidently. But never mind that.
I'd try to get a refund from free2try, and pick up a copy from IV. That way, Introversion will get the lion's share of the profits and can go on making great games, you're guaranteed of working patches, and you won't be condoning Strategy First's dodgy business dealings.

He even made a topic! Oh, mystery, unfold; lest my trembling heart cannot bear th'suspense!

Also, either try to get a refund or try to apply the latest patch. It's up to you.
