That says everything. You were using an outdated version of uplink that allowed you to purchase the motion detector or self-destruct even if your memory banks were too full for the software that it requires to run. What you need to do is update your uplink to the current version, open the game again, and repurchase the software. Then you will see the warning that was added as frenchfrog noted. Outside of that, you need to remove things in your gateway's memory so that you have room for the software.

Re: Problems with software
What system or methodology does the company use to test software before it is released to the market? Are there specific testing steps or processes that are used to ensure a high level of reliability and quality in software products?

Re: Problems with software
Greetings! The company uses a software testing system that follows standard steps and methodologies to ensure the reliability and quality of its software products, read here. This includes test planning, functional and non-functional testing, integration and system testing, acceptance testing, and regression testing. The company also uses automated testing to improve process efficiency. Particular attention is paid to checking the compliance of the program with the requirements and quality standards before its release to the market.
