Something gone missing in UpLink ISS Database? + glitch poll
I hacked into the Uplink Internal Services System and copied all of the agent data and the reader and jailed nearly all of them (for fun). After a while of playing I got a message saying that a company wants the data.
I gave them the data and the reader, but when it came to the reward, instead of the 50000c I got 47000c because they said that they only recovered 90 percent of the Agent Data!
I knew it had to be this!

Were is it? Is it just a glitch or is it hidden elsewere?

But when I read the data it has 3 Agents names missing and then their is mine.
How many names should be on the list? How many blocks of data should you have? How does the number you get from dividing the number of names by number of blocks relate to the number of agents you don't have details for? What can you now tell me one block of data respresents?

What I mean is that I can see their underground UpLink name on the list but I cant see their real name, here is a pic.

The reader has the agent handles programed into it. Each datablock contains 4 real names that belong to Uplink agents.
No datablocks = No Names = Unknown.
If you had no datablocks and only the reader all the agents would be "unknown". If you have one datablock you would have the names of 4 Uplink agents, the rest would be 'unknown'. If you have 2 datablocks you would have the names of 8 Uplink agents, the rest would be 'unknown'. etc.

I didn't give you an answer because 1) it is blindingly obvious 2) you answered it yourself. But to answer your question it said data was missing because data was missing, 'Uplink_Agent_Data 4.dat' to be exact. Now, since you only sent them 90% of the data (9 blocks out of a possible 10) they only payed you 90% of what they offered for ALL the data.
Why is 'Uplink_Agent_Data 4.dat' missing? Because it contains data about you. In an attempt to protect the user from accidently killing themselves off while not requring to know your real name, Chris (the programmer of Uplink) decided not to make that file available because if you gave that block to your employers then you would end up dead like the others.

You need to edit the poll to include
"I'm just being stupid for missing the glaringly obvious that needed to be spelled out to me."
