How many systems must be infected with revelation?

Postby 2122 » Sat Nov 12, 2005 11:35 pm

How many systems do I have to ifnect with revelaton before I pass the mission? My record is somewhere around twelve, before uplink kicked me off.

Once you realise that you probably should be stopping revelation, then you can really pass the game. I havent played for a while, but I remember I was never able to complete that part. Uplink always got to me.

Use the anti-virus to Revelation. (I think its called Faith). Save the internet, don't destory it.

Whether you need to destroy or save the internet depends on which side you are working for. If you are working for ARC your final mission is to destroy the internet.

Infect as many systems as you can. When Revelation reaches your gateway, your final mission is accomplished.

Be advised that other (NPC) agents are using Faith to stop Revelation. If Faith is a higher version than Revelation, the mission is doomed and you will be booted.

*shakes his head* Geh.
To this day, I cannot complete this mission. I've tried just about every damn method I can (hell, Faith was version 0.2 while Revelation was 3.0) and I *still* got caught.
It's the deadle one thing I can't do. XD;;;

**Bump**

Well, it may be the systems you're infecting. Stick with the ISMs, they are the easiest to hack. Mainframes and LANs require the admin's voice and take longer to hack into.

XD That's the thing. This latest attempt, I went onto InterNIC and just picked all the internals. Then I went through, hid them all, then revealed 5 at a time. I got to about 25, then bam. "We have been watching you..."
*sighs*

Here's from a FAQ/walkthrough.

Get ready for the mission. Once it starts, start copying for about 10
Revelation V3.0. Once done, repeat this:
- Go to the World Map and load the connection.
- Connect to random Internal Service Systems.
- Bypass Firewall if present.
- Copy Revelation in the File Server. Delete any file if there is no space.
- Disconnect.
- Repeat for 10 - 15 systems.
That will take for about 5 minutes, now:
- Reconnect to one of the "pre-hacked" systems.
- If things are right, you can still login with the previous password.
- Bypass Proxy with 2 or 3 security, Monitor with 1 (for some reason, if you
don't bypass the Monitor if it's the only security, Revelation won't be
active).

- Run Revelation.
- Repeat on all pre-hacked systems.
Now, with about 15 systems hacked almost at once, Arunmor can't stop it
anymore. If you want, fast-forward.

Jouster, are you bypassing the monitor?

Now, that's one I haven't thought of...

Then again, I've always stuck with Arunmor. I want to continue to exploit the net after the Showdown.

I have level 5 Proxy, Monitor, and Firewall bypass on every system I connect to.
Yes. XD
Maybe it's that it's bypassed, and not turned off?

@Mr. Roboto: Agreed.

@Jouster: Hmm, that shouldn't make a difference. You did pre-hack 10-15 systems, right? That should allow you to connect and run quickly as soon as the mission starts. Also, try arresting other Uplink agents by getting their real names, hacking the GCD, and having them arrested.

EDIT: Just read previous post of mine...

- Bypass Proxy with 2 or 3 security, Monitor with 1 (for some reason, if you don't bypass the Monitor if it's the only security, Revelation won't be active).

This implies that you shouldn't bypass the Monitor when there's a Proxy to bypass. Odd. Anyone verify this?

Also, I think that if you wait a day or two (game time, fast forward a few days) then you may not seem suspisious and MAY be able to continue for a little longer. I usually wait until the News Server spits out a few new hacking reports and the red rectangle to disappear before hacking again. I just love destroying the Internet

Do you think we could infect the Uplink Test Machine with Revelation? (Since it has a slow trace time and has a password you know and doesn't change. :) )
