You have got to be shitting me. This is the simplest hack in the game! It tells you how to do it. Just RTFT, Read The Fucking Tutorial. After that you might want to pay a visit to Modlink and read the guide there also.

You only need 1 password craker.

The in game tutorial and The modlink guide should help you.

---
Connect to the test server via bounce points, and run your password cracker on the password box you are prompted with, your trace tracker should begin to beep. Goto the file server and copy the relevant fle to your harddrive, disconnect. Send the file via email to uplink. You don't need to delete logs on this machine.

:)

EDIT: Rkiver got there first & Head splodey?

No, not really, but pointing out the blatently obvious to those who haven't bothered to even look or try themselves does bring a certain satisfaction. Before the guides existed we all managed to work out how to do things on our own. But you would be amazed at how lazy some people are nowadays......

No worries Evan, welcome on board. :)

As for HEAD SPLODEY, go read Johnny The Homicidal Maniac Comics by Johen Vasquez, the same artist who did Invader Zim.

No-one has answered Evan's question: I will
Okay
Choose between:
1) run tutorial
2) read this boring guide

if you chose 2 then here we are:
1. click on the wrold map
2. click on all boxes except for test machine, then click test machine
3.click connect
4.run password breaker at the logon screen
5.click access fileserver
6.open file copier
7.with it open, click on Uplink test data
8. when it says: 'Select memory slot' click on the memory icon on the HUD
9. click a empty space
10. click disconnect
11. reply to e-mail

to skilled Uplinkers, that was pretty boring.
I strongly suggest running tutorial

I think the reason they got pissed at you was because they were amazed at how you can not figure out how to do the test mission when the tutorial in the game clearly tells you how to do so.  If you couldn't figure that out I really don't think you should continue playing Uplink.

You should make your first bounce point to "INTERNIC".
Immedietly after you complete a hack. Connect to internic and choose "ADMIN" then use the password cracker and get in (don't worry you can't be caught hacking INTERNIC) I sugest you use Log Deleter V4.0 and delete all logs that say "Bounce". I allways delete all of them because i like to keep it clean.

1) For those early missions, the ones that say copy or delete a file, you don't need to delete the logs.

2) You should not delete all of the logs, you should keep the one second from the top which says "connection established" because if you don't, when you disconnect there will be a connection closed but no connection established which looks sort of fishy.

yeh but not just the "Bounce" log. You also need to remove the one that says you logged in as an admin, it would look very suspicious if you logged in to it with an admin pass and im sure leaving the login log has been my downfall in the past.

And the point of bumping a topic over 3 weeks old was what exactly? I really tend to worry about the so called intelligence of some of our newer members. If they are the hope for the future I weep for what is to come.

so what if its 3 weeks old? no-one else had mentioned my point and i thinks its an important one, especially if newbies are looking at the forums for tips.

It means you should delete everything except for Connection Established.

There isn't any point in bumping this topic either. If no one has replied in 3 weeks, chances are they are having no problems so your post is in fact, pointless.
I did defeat Epyon, on Hard Mode but I used up lots of continues. :)
