Introversion

Every time I try to speed up time the game kicks me out stating that I have attempted access to an Uplink Server. This has happened every time I speed the time up, regardless of how far into the game I am in. This is frustrating, as I am not able to upgrade hardware and gateways quickly. I even make sure I do not link through any Uplink servers while executing missions.
I am running the game on a MacBook Air. The game was purchased through Steam.
I tried searching for other issues regarding this, but they do not seem to get the same exit screen that I do.
