Can't edit body of an email

I'm trying to "Find financial details of one of our associates," but I can't edit the contents of the reply to the mission. I also can't edit the body of an email if I'm just clicking the email button. I can edit the subject and the recipient, but not the contents of the message. How do I fix that?
