Custom gateways/LANS

Hi all
Will try and put all the info I can in to try get the problem sorted first time.

I recently bought Uplink via Steam - so I am running the 1.54vers - and I am having problems trying to get custom LANs and Gateways to show up in game - does anyone know where I should put the files? and what files to where?
I am currently in C: > program files x86 > Steam > Steamapps > common > uplink

Did you create a new agent after copying over the files? LANs only get placed during the world gen of creating an agent so wouldn't be incorporated into an existing account.

Yeah I tried that just now...and still nothing new has appeared.
