Introversion

hello,

i just got uplink from steam and im having a problem starting the game.

i enter a name and password, then im taken to a map screen where im supposed to choose a gateway location.

the problem is that nothing happens when i click a location. ive tried clicking all of them, still nothing happens.

ive already deleted and re downloaded the game files several times....still having the same problem.

im using xp if it matters.

what are you clicking. the names of places or the little boxes?

in that case i have no idea, I dont have the steam version, but dont they have forums for this stuff too? it might be worth trying there to see if there is anyone else with the same problem

the steam support directs me to here or introversion support, which only says to make sure you have the latest patch, which steam automatically does on its own.

does the patch download and install with the main game or does it patch afterwards?

the patches are supposed to dl automatically, either when you first install a game or if a patch is released after you install it. its automatic no matter what you do.

theres a special command line that will launch steam and download a patch that seems to be specifically for wide screen. from what i read though its been helping people with other problems as well.

i got the patch installed, and surprisingly, a user name i was trying to use was there, but it was accessing from tokyo (i dont know why).

stupid me instead of just playing it that way i retired that one to make a new one, and now i still cant select a gateway location.

could be the patch thats not helping
