Error: Failed to load the user profile.

Hey there.

Bought the Uplink game after loving the demo. Had a good first session, but when I went to load a previous save it came up with an error message stating:

Error:

Failed to load the user profile.
The save file is not compatable.

Save file is version [0].

....
The message continues but it seems the text box isnt big enough to display it all.

If anyone can help me out with this problem I'd be extremely pleased, I loved this game and it would be a shame to be forced to give it up.

what operating system are you running?

what version of uplink are you running?

where did you get the game from?

Im running Vista.

Ive patched the most recent version of uplink.

And I had the demo, and then I bought the full version from the uplink section of the introversion site.

If that save was made before you patched to the latest version, then it simply it won't load. There's quite a lot of difference between 1.0 and 1.54.

If you patched to the latest version and then saved, that's an interesting problem.

Also dont forget vista asks permission before it does anything, after what mas said, are you running it as admin?
