I installed the game. used the toomanysecrets account. got what i wanted and installed the update. i completed the mission where i am asked by the orginization to set off revelation in their own server. after which i recieve an email saying there is an issue with the story. hwo can i fix this.

I installed the game uplink.. i used the cheat account Toomanysecrets...i used the cheats to get money, software and hardware. so i updatedthe game using the 1.54-5 patch. i completed numerous story missions. but the last one i accomplished sent me an email saying my account "Toomanysecrets" was corrupt and wouldn't let me go any further without something being changed, i'm curious as to why this didn't happen sooner, and if there is anything i can do to fix it.

I'm surprised you managed to do as much as you did. Older profiles are not compatible with newer versions of Uplink. You can't cheat with an old version, then install the update, then expect the profile to still work. If you want to use the newest version of the game, don't cheat.

Well somehow i made it work. dunno how.

Actually, the very fact that this topic exists seems to indicate that it is not working. I am sorry that you were not able to understand what I was saying. Let me rephrase it: old profiles do not work with new versions of the game. If you try to use an old profile with a newer version of the game, there are likely to be problems, like the one you describe in your opening post. Either cheat, and play an older version; or don't cheat, and use the newest version.

AAHHH ok, thank you. i decided to just play the newer version

learn to use Cheat Engine :-)
