Hi,

After rediscovering my old copy of uplink during a clearout i thought i would give it a go.

But when i tried to play the cd i got some sort of error message that said ' C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application. '

I'm running Win XP sp2. i'm sure i had it running on this setup a couple of years ago (although it might of been win98 i had then) so why wont it work now. I know it should work ok cos it says WinXP on the Uplink box.

Any help you can give to get this game working again would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Old copy, clarify if you will.

CD from Introversion?
CD from Strategy first?

Hi,

The game is an original introversion copy. I bought it a month or two after it was released.
BTW i live in the UK.

I've had this error message appear once before with a different game and i thought that might of been because it was an old DOS game. So i've no idea why it would appear when i tried to install uplink, maybe it's conflicting with some crap i've installed in the past. My HDD is well overdue a re-format.
