so does anyone have any idea what i can do to make it work? realy wanna get going with this game.

Do you have windows blinds installed?
What version of Uplink are you running? Download, Steam, Introversion Store, CD etc etc?

Windows blinds is the cause, don't just shut it down. Completely uninstall it.

Adding Uplink to Window Blinds' blacklist should also work.
